UH-13PT Hovercraft Construction

On November 5^th, 2005 David, Jeff, and Daryl started construction of three hovercrafts. The idea being to build three identical hovercrafts, one for each of us, simultaneously on the weekends over the course of the next few months. We have decided to build the UH-13PT designed by Universal Hovercraft.

The first weekend consisted of making a few runs to various hardware stores to purchase as much of the materials as we could find locally, as well as the construction of the thrust duct form.

The biggest hurdle that we have encountered so far has been the locating a vendor for the 2" extruded foam that will be used to construct the hull... apparently insulation of that caliber isn't in high demand in this neck of the woods. I guess all we need in Texas is the little ½" stuff.
